Mold
USA has a staff of highly qualified and trained professionals to address mold issues. Mold is a very different environmental and health problem than asbestos or lead. Mold occurs in building environments when there is some kind of moisture source that directly affects certain organic building materials. As mold grows on these moisture-laden materials it releases spores into the air and affects many people who are susceptible to mold. In order to properly address mold issues it is of paramount importance that the investigating personnel have a background or training in building construction methodologies in order to understand how the building materials that can support mold growth can be exposed to water. It is also important to understand how the air handling systems operate in buildings as they act as the delivery devices and can spread mold spores throughout a structure well away from the source. Our environmental technicians have this experience and training and can investigate, assess, design and oversee remedial action to correct the problem. We also have the in-house capability through our Construction/Remediation Division to perform mold mitigation work.
